grandpa allen

grandpa allen was one of the most amazing people I have known in my life. he welcomed me (and my family) into his family with open, loving arms. he made himself as much my grandpa as he had always been to jerry. he embraced life with vigor and zeal...and even at 97 he could still sweet-talk the ladies.

grandpa passed from this life on the morning of 7 aug 2009 - a friday - at 97 years old and just eight days shy of his 78th wedding anniversary.

a few photos of grandpa allen and many from our long weekend in moundville honoring his life and the many lives he touched along the way:

quick pics

playing on daddy's lap

snoozing in the car seat after a stroll

loungin' with g-man

she's a champ under her einstein gym...she uses the foot pedal (the green musical note she's kicking in the photo) to change songs

suckin' her toes after a giggle session with daddy...as soon as I got the camera the giggles stopped (she's her daddy's daughter for sure...she clams up at the sight of a camera)

jeff + holly + peyton

in august jeff, holly and peyton came to visit. it was a fun weekend - we packed in as much as we could with two tots and a pregnant lady.

we went to the zoo.

had breakfast at snooze - the BEST pancakes on earth.

drove up to the summit of pikes peak. marianne was just over four months which just barely meets the minimum age because of the low oxygen levels. she did just fine but we did cut the stay up top a bit short. which was fine because it was spitting snow and a bit chilly.

peyton played at the park playground near our house. marianne got to swing with daddy.

and hung out at home.

thanks for coming to see us jeff, holly and peyton - we had so much fun. we miss you guys already and can't wait to meet the new little one soon. xo. love you all.
