good riddance january

for the most part january was a rough month because i have been DARN sore and tired. between my back adjusting to the new and ever-growing front load and a strained muscle in my left side that kills me with every sneeze and every laugh. and with jerry around, i laugh a lot and it hurts so bad i have to beg him to stop making me laugh. don't tell him that i admitted this but. he. is. funny. which i do absolutely adore about him.

despite having a cold, i have felt less sore and more energized the last couple of weeks. which has been good timing because i've had some full and fun weekends.

i flew home to springfield a couple of weeks ago for a baby shower that my best friend Nat threw for me. it was a fabulous chin-dig with yummy yummy treats. i had such a good time and was so thrilled to have so many of my good friends come to shower me with their company and love. THANK YOU to those of you who were able to be there...especially to Steph and Liz who came all the way down from st louis and kc. nati came up with the cutest craft and had everyone design a felt birdie with feathers, buttons and sequins. she's currently working on stuffing and sewing them together in pairs so that I (read: jer) can hang them up on the nursery wall. i'll definitely post a photo when i get them!

i also got to see my mom and dad (nana and papa) for lunch on sunday before i flew home to denver. mom delivered the onsies that my aunts, cousins and friends painted for our baby girl at the shower my sisters threw for me in december. they are so cute and i can't wait for her to wear them.

this past weekend my lil sister flew in from wyoming. she and i booked the last-minute ticket (literally) in celebration of her upcoming birthday this week. we went antiquing on colfax and then to lunch and shop in downtown littleton. it's the cutest district with the best boutiques. i found a diaper bag and kimberly snagged a sassy pair of red wedges. i LOVE the diaper bag but i sure do miss the days of blowing $ on shoes!!!! later we indulged in indian food (yumyum. saag and naan) and kept with the theme and decided to go see slumdog millionaire. excellent food and great movie - the only thing that would have made the night even better would have been a night cap. i miss those days too!!! maybe even more than the shoes. we had such a fun weekend together! jer was relieved to have her visit so that he could spend the entire weekend working and drinking with the guys - without me whining about it.

the only disappointment of the weekend was the steelers winning the superbowl. sorry uncle mike.

Hey JillyBeanie,

Never fear, you will go back to the days of blowing money on shoes, but they will fit tiny feet!
Love to all and God bless,
MOM/Nana
